David’s Tent is 24/7 Worship, Prayer and Bible reading on the National mall, since 2015.
Having served at David’s Tent every year since it’s launch, Joseph & Cindy Mathew are also the state coordinators for Ohio. As you can imagine, hosting day and night worship on the national mall, of all places, is quite the undertaking. The staff at David’s Tent cannot do this alone. They have graciously opened up the tent, calling all 50 states to come and take a week out of the year, to fill the tent with worship and bible reading.
What does a State Week look like?
Each state week is 168 hours of continuous Worship, Prayer and Bible reading. Each watch is 3-4 hours long, depending on the time of the day and three adult staff (who have completed the David’s Tent application and been approved) are needed for each watch.
Worship at the tent is live (plugged in to the PA system) from 7am - 9pm everyday and goes acoustic (unplugged) from 9pm-7am. A baby grand piano is available for the unplugged sets and you are welcome to bring your guitars for all sets.
Limited housing is available at Embassy church, dorm style, at a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE basis.
$25/ night includes your stay and 3 meals, which you must prepare. Ages 6-12 is half price.
